(Cataloging) (FR : Recueil factice)

A volume that binds together a certain number of pieces or works at the initiative of the possessor. These are sometimes listed in a handwritten table of contents or even introduced by a handwritten title, additions of the owner. Each part is generally therefore separately. The work is indicated as belonging to a convolute in the holding record. We distinguish between the convolute (ensemble) and its texts (the publications it contains). The convolute is recognizable because it can contain several formats, typographies, paginations and title pages.
