(Cataloging) LOC = Localization (FR : LOC)
In the context of retrospective cataloging in Sudoc, this term is applied to the creation of a holding record in an existing bibliographic record in the internal database. Localization is therefore one type of retrospective cataloging operation of four, including enrichment, creation by input and creation by derivation. Not to be confused with the physical location of a document, represented by text or code, of the physical place where a document is usually stored.
