Computational concept according to which everyday objects or places in the physical world can be connected to the Internet, and be recognized by other objects. A connected object collects data, using sensors (temperature, speed, humidity, etc.) and sends it via the Internet so that it can be analyzed by computers. The object can equally well be a vehicle, a watch, an industrial machine or even a parking space.
